Road Connectivity

Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway is a 120 km (68 mi) long, four-lane wide (expandable to eight) access-controlled under-construction expressway in the state of Gujarat in India. It will connect Sardar Patel Ring Road near Sarkhej in Ahmedabad with Adhelai village in Bhavnagar district via Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). The Ahmedabad–Dholera greenfield expressway is a part of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and is expected to be ready by March 2023.

Dholera National Highway 8 connects the Dholera with Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, and Mumbai. Dholera itself has good connectivity with National Highway (NH) 8 (Anand) and 8A. Dholera Greenfield Smart City a part of the Golden Quadrilateral, the 500 km Mumbai- Ahmedabad- Vadodara Expressway connects the region

Rail Connectivity

Dholera Greenfield Smart City Rail connection is being planned for Dholera, Green Signal to Ahmedabad Dholera SIR Mono-Rail project is on Track to connect major cities Visalpur (Ahmedabad) to Adhelai Dholera SIR expand up to Bhavnagar.

A high-speed metro rail that will pass through Ahmedabad-Dholera-Gandhinagar was submitted under the DMIC master plan and approved by the central government. The project intends to augment the regional connectivity with Gujarat Dholera smart city and develop a high-speed urban transport system that shall link Gujarat to the international airport, urban centers, main railway stations, and bus depots of Dholera. Linking up the metro with Dholera international airport shall play a vital role in the success of the airport. The smart city Dholera metro project is expected to be a carrier of 80,000 passengers per hour (40,000 in each direction) and 1.70 million commuters are expected to use it by the year 2031.

AIR Connectivity

The Government is providing a separate International Airport to cater to the needs of this Megacity. Dholera International Airport is a greenfield airport project in Gujarat, India. It will be built near Navagam in the Dholera taluka of the Ahmedabad district. The project site is spread over 1,426 hectares. It is proposed to be Asia’s Largest cargo airport and will replace Ahmedabad international airport for international flights.

The estimated cost of this project is Rs.1305 Crore. The airport is expected to be commissioned by June 2024. The airport would serve the logistics requirements of the DSIR, which is planned as a huge industrial township in the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project (DMIC).

Sea-Port Connectivity

The port site is proposed to be connected by road with Ahmedabad – Bhavnagar highway at a distance of about 11 kilometers. Almost 2,057 hectares of Government land was allocated for the development of the port.
